He was born on February 3, 1953, in Midland, Texas, to Timothy James Hurley, Sr. and Marilyn Hurley.
Dr. Hurley was a proud Vietnam Era Army veteran, pastor, judo sensei, and college dean. He lived a life of service, faith, teaching, and mentorship. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, his love of the Lord, his lifelong dedication to Judo, and his generous spirit.
He is survived by his son, Bryan; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, and Scott; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his foster son, Jose; his mother, Marilyn; and his father, Timothy.
Visitation will be held on April 29, 2026, at Valhalla Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m., with a service following at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be conducted separately at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), or the National Veterans Foundation.
