Ann was born in Indianapolis on May 27, 1936 to Edward and Martina Kinney. She attended Broad Ripple High School and Butler University, then pursued a career in elementary education. She married her first love, Richard in Indianapolis in 1961.
She was an active volunteer in the Children’s Bureau of Indianapolis, Saint Margaret’s Guild, and served in multiple positions at St. Luke Catholic School and Cathedral High School. Her children loved that she was considered the “cool mom” by their friends.
As an empty-nester, she embraced her inner love of fashion. She worked in the retail world at such local shops as The Tarkington Tweed, The Secret Ingredient and Jacobson’s. She helped countless women find that perfect outfit, and made them feel special while doing so.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Kinney. She is survived by her devoted husband Richard, her sons Eric (Nicole Bledsoe Riegner) and Kurt (Jennifer Lowe Riegner), her sister Jean (Greg) Gardner, and grandchildren Hans, Sasha, Sophie, Elliot, Frank, and Henry, and great-grandchild Beck.
Mass of Christian Burial for Ann will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 5692 Central Avenue, Indianapolis, IN, 46220.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
