

Betty Jeanne (Cannon) Kniptash of Indianapolis and Carmel passed away on September 4th at age 101. Betty was born to Robert and Ulela Cannon on December 21, 1923 in Marshall, Indiana. She attended Manual High School where she met William Kniptash. They married on March 20, 1944 during his service in the Navy, and were married 70 years before he passed away in 2014.
Betty was a member of Hillcrest Country Club, Stansfield Circle, and was a deacon and elder at Northminster Presbyterian Church. She played golf and bridge and loved art, crafts, crosswords and reading. She was known for knitting beautiful sweaters, afghans, hats and all kinds of needlework. She had a great sense of humor, was fun-loving and had many good friends.
Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Peggy (Kniptash) Auble of Frederick, MD and her son, Douglas Kniptash and wife, Judy (Allen) Kniptash of Carmel; grandchildren Jacqueline (Auble) Hulslander and husband David Hulslander of Boulder, CO, Daniel Auble and wife Jennifer (Marzouk) Auble of Springfield, VA, Jenny (Kniptash) Schilt and husband Steve Schilt of Carmel, Jeff Kniptash of CarmeL and Kevin Kniptash and wife Jill (Dworkus) Kniptash of Carmel, also great-grandchildren Kaitlyn and Brayden Auble; Theo Hulslander; Tyler, Colton and Owen Schilt; Lucy and Finn Kniptash; and Parker and Reese Kniptash.
Private services will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church and interment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
