Betty Lee Stewart

Betty was born in Carlinville IL on June 21, 1925. She moved to Indianapolis where she attended Shortridge HS as a freshman. She was married to Frank Stewart for 64 years.

After High School, Betty was offered a job at First National Bank in Indianapolis where she became the first female bank teller in the city. Betty worked as Administrative Assistant to the Dean at North Central from 1974-1994.

Betty loved staying at her family summer cottage on Lake Michigan. She enjoyed traveling to Germany to visit her grandchildren. Her love for babies was evident everywhere she went. Her faith and involvement in church was very important to her and she was a member of First Baptist Church. Along with her faith, her family was so important to her.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Dorothy Summers, brother Robert Summers and husband Frank Stewart. She is survived by her 3 children and spouses, David (Sandi) Stewart, Kim Stewart, and John Douglas (Patricia) Stewart. She has 3 grandchildren and spouse, Jennifer Stewart, Kimberly Stewart, and Nicole (Eli) Harrison, and one great grandson, Reece Harrison.

Visitation will be held at Leppert Funeral Home on East 86th St. Indianapolis on Monday November 21st from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a service at 1:00 p.m.
