It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carla Kay Eley, who left us peacefully on December 23, 2024, in Indianapolis, IN. Born on February 25, 1953, to Carl Eley and Virginia (Hobbs) Roe, Carla’s warmth and light touched everyone she met. Her infectious smile, easy-going nature, and genuine heart had a way of brightening every room she entered, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Carla was a proud Haworth High School Husky and went on to earn her Master’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. Over the course of her 30-year career, she made her mark in the automotive industry, working for General Motors, but it was her ability to connect with people that truly defined her.
A woman of many passions, Carla traveled the world, but she always found peace and happiness along the coasts of Florida. She had a deep love for animals, particularly dogs, and was devoted to rescuing countless dogs throughout her life. Carla’s faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and she cherished every moment spent with family, friends, and those she loved.
Carla is survived by her mother, Virginia, her daughter Ashley, her son Shane, her sister Heidi, her brothers James “Jim” (Sherry), and Michael (Carolyn), her grandsons Cale and Graham, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends whose lives were enriched by her love and laughter. Carla was preceded in death by her father, Carl, and her brothers Pat, and Max.
Carla lived a life full of joy, love, and laughter, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. Please join us in celebrating her beautiful life on January 17th, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Bel Air Event Center located at 3014 South Webster Street in Kokomo, IN. Together, we will share stories, laughter, food, and drink in her honor as we remember the incredible woman she was.
