87, of Indianapolis, departed this life Monday, April 13, 2020. She was born August 15, 1932 in Kahoka, Missouri to the late Werner S. and Jalina M. (Baird) Kemmer. Helen attended Purdue University and had worked as an accountant for 16 years with KPMG, retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. Helen is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, M. Lynn Daniel and her loving daughter, Sharan L. Daniel and son-in-law Robin M. Selk. She is also survived by her dear sister, Juanita P. Parsons.
A devoted wife and mother, Helen dedicated herself to creating a loving home for her family. Once she saw her daughter off to college, she enjoyed working outside the home again. Upon retirement, she continued to manage the family budget and assisted her husband with part-time work he pursued after his own retirement. The couple developed lifelong friendships through many moves around the country. Helen was generous with her time and love, finding ways to help others whenever she could. Her warmth, sincerity, and self-deprecating humor drew people to her. One of her favorite volunteer roles was helping to register youth at the Indiana Deaf Camp in the summer, an opportunity she found through her church. At her retirement community, she worked in the library and the gift shop, joined a singing group, enjoyed going to movies, the symphony, lectures, and discussions. She was cherished by many, in whose hearts her deeply caring spirit and good humor will endure.
Following cremation, Helen will be laid to rest at Kahoka Cemetery in Kahoka, MO. Memorial contributions in Helen’s name are suggested to: Indiana Deaf Camps Foundation, 1434 S.
