

James “Jim” Edward Troy Jr., age 63, passed away on May 1, 2026, surrounded by loved ones in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on October 18, 1962, in Indianapolis and was the son of James “Jim” Edward and Kathryn “Kay” Lee (Woodring) Troy.
Jim attended Carmel High School where he was a varsity wrestler and varsity football player. He later continued his studies at Vincennes University and served his country as a member of the Army.
Jim worked at Crown Hill Cemetery for 28 years. He was quite the handyman and often spent his time fixing up anything and everything on his parent’s farm.
Jim was an avid lover of the outdoors, taking after his father’s love of gardening. He also supported his community by being a volunteer firefighter in his spare time.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Kay Troy, he is survived by his children, James “Jimmy” Troy, and Alexandria “Allie” (Bobby) Barlow; his siblings, Kenneth (Kristie) Troy, Kevin (Heather) Troy, Stephen (Eleanor) Troy, Cindy (Jason) Lueking; his grandchildren Khaleesi Barlow, James Barlow and Xaiden Rains; and his great grandchild Zachariah Rains.
Services for Jim will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026 at the Crown Hill Gothic Chapel, 700 West 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46208 with visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 noon followed by Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Jim Farrell. Burial will be immediately thereafter at Crown Hill Cemetery.
