John Jeffrey Kennelly, 80, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved deeply. Known for his sharp wit, generous heart, and unshakable faith, Jeff lived a life full of purpose, laughter, and love.
Jeff grew up in Indiana and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1963. He then attended Xavier University, graduating in the class of 1967. In Cincinnati, Jeff met his wife, Kathy, with whom he shared a lifetime of devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership for 58 years.
Jeff built a successful career in the grocery industry, serving as Vice President of Operations for O’Malia Food Markets. He later transitioned to a career as a residential land developer and subsequently shifted his focus to selling internet and phone services to commercial businesses.
He was a proud father of eight children, known for his vibrant personality, love of laughter, and the energy and heart he brought to every room. Jeff loved his family fiercely and held God above all, never hesitating to share that love with others.
His life was filled with joy, faith, and unforgettable moments, ranging from extravagant Christmas displays to spontaneous adventures that always seemed to work out. He created a home that was both a gathering place and a source of light, always wanting his family to celebrate holidays together.
Jeff had a talent for making everything bigger, better, and more meaningful. He frequently attended daily Mass and Eucharistic Adoration at nearby Catholic churches. When his body could no longer allow him to play golf, he got the fastest scooter he could find and zoomed in and out of church.
In his honor, hug your loved ones, share a joke, and raise a glass of Orange Gatorade to a life well lived. He is smiling down on us now—joyful, proud, and full of love. Jeff leaves behind a legacy of devotion, laughter, and wholehearted living.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Kathy Cassedy Kennelly, and children Kris Bigelow (Mike-deceased), Mary Harris (Brian), Karen Collins (Duane), Katie Caldwell (Spencer), Megan Stewart (Andy), Molly (Mitch), and Michael James. Jeff was a devoted and deeply loved grandfather to 13 grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
