Kim Rubenacker McBride died peacefully February 3, 2026 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Patrick McBride, her daughter Kalli and her two sons Jonathon (Laura O’Donohue) and David. Kim has two grandchildren, Joshua and Emma.
Kim was born on October 21, 1953, to Dee and Jerome Rubenacker in Champaign, Illinois. She attended the University of Illinois where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with Honors. She served as the Athletic Director at Atheneum Turners where she also taught gymnastics and coached the Turners gymnastics team. She was a fitness instructor at the Jordan YMCA and taught gymnastics at the Jewish Community Center. In addition, Kim was an Adjunct Professor at Butler University.
Throughout her life, Kim was very active and especially enjoyed running and playing tennis. She will be fondly remembered for her warm, loving approach to life and her effervescent, friendly personality. Memorial services will be private. Donations can be made in Kim’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
