Born into this life June 1, 2005, Luke was raised on the northside of Indianapolis as the fourth and youngest child to Maureen Marie Nelson Faul and Howard “Skip” Alois Faul II. He was the cherished baby brother to Chloe Marie Faul, Jared Howard Faul and Bridget Marie Faul.
From the time he was a little towhead, Luke was a warm, loving boy who always wore a smile. He became known as a true ambassador of Coventry Road, greeting neighbors and knowing the name of every single neighbor's dog. He was affectionately known as Jared’s “clone” in the Saint Luke carpool line, always high fiving with his big brother’s friends.
Through all his years, Luke enjoyed playing outside with his siblings and friends. He could often be found up to bat in the front yard or at First Baptist Little League, racing around on dirt bikes and scooters, swimming at the Riviera Club, fishing off Brandywine Bridge at Palisades, sledding down the neighborhood hill, dribbling a basketball in the driveway, listening to music with his AirPods at full volume, wrestling with his dogs, goalkeeping for Saints Lacrosse Club, shredding the hills on skis and tearing up the skatepark. Luke traveled with friends and family, checking off destinations on his bucket list including trips to Florida, Michigan, and even Belize, as well as “out West,” to Hot Springs Arkansas, the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.
Luke followed his siblings to Saint Luke Catholic School, as part of the graduating class of 2020, where he is remembered as an altar boy, a Boy Scout in BSA Troop 174 and a CYO Boys Volleyball City Champion. In middle school, Luke worked summers caddying at Meridian Hills Country Club and began detailing cars. A highlight of his time at Saint Luke was a fantastic eighth-grade class trip to Washington, D.C.
Luke continued his education at Bishop Chatard High School and joined the lacrosse team. As of junior year, he attended Noblesville High School, spending time with friends and acquiring certificates for practical skills in welding and auto mechanics. Following graduation this May, Luke spent the summer on the family ranch in Silver Lake, Oregon. There, he explored the great outdoors and worked alongside his uncle, farming hay and maintaining equipment before returning home October 25.
Above all, Luke will be remembered as a friendly, sensitive, dog-loving and sweet young man. His legacy will live in the memories of those blessed to know him. A friend to many, a precious brother and son to a special few.
Luke now is reunited with his grandparents in Heaven, who are wrapping him in their enduring love. He is survived by Maureen, Howard “Skip” (Charlotte), Chloe, Jared and Bridget, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Our family would like to especially thank the Indianapolis Fire Department and the Eskenazi Hospital trauma ICU teams: surgeons, doctors, nurses, technicians and staff, for their tireless efforts. We are forever grateful.
