Mark Anthony Totleben

62, of Indianapolis, departed this life on Monday, June 19, 2023 in Ashburn, VA. Mark was born May 15, 1961 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Romeo J. and Dorothy M. (Mainzer) Totleben. He grew up and attended schools in Erie, graduating from Technical Memorial High School in 1979. Mark worked most of his life in the information technology field. He was most recently a Senior Infrastructure Architect. He had worked for the GTE, GTE EFT Services, City of Indianapolis Information Services Agency, Farm Bureau Insurance and for the past 24 years, CNO Financial.

Mark was a kind and gentle soul who was dedicated to his church and family. He was a longtime member of St. Monica Catholic Church. He was also a member of Sons of American Legion – Post #341 in Cicero, the Noblesville Moose Lodge #540, the South Erie Turners and the Erie Diocesan Cursillo Movement #206. Mark was also a longtime supporter and member of the Indianapolis Children’s Museum and never passed on an opportunity to visit there with his family.

Mark loved growing up in the 70’s. He loved all things electronic and taught himself to use his HAM radio, CB radio and Morse code. He was quite the photographer and enjoyed quiet times in his dark room. He was a familiar face at Taylor’s Pub and always loved meeting new friends and learning their life stories.

Mark was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maureen Angela (Wilczynski) Totleben and brother, William Totleben.

Mark is survived by his children, Joseph (Melissa) Totleben, Gerard (Melissa) Totleben, Kelly (Jerald) Martin and Katie (Robert) Schopf; grandchildren Jackson, Andrew, Maya, Bennett, Zoë, Rinoa, Keira, Mannix, Juliet, Scarlet and Jackie. Siblings, James (Nancy) Totleben, Heidi (Nick) Clement and Monica (Kenny) Crooks; brother-in-law, Patrick (Teresa) Wilczynski; sister-in-law, Bridget Hines and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and old friends.

Visitation for Mark will be from 4-7 pm on Sunday, July 2nd at Leppert Mortuary – Nora Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 am on Monday, July 3rd at St. Monica Catholic Church followed by interment at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.

In addition to flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in Mark’s name to Walk to End Alzheimer’s or to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
