

Mary Marjory ‘Marge’ Ogle, 76, passed away on January 17, 2025, in her home in Indianapolis, Indiana. Marge was born on September 11, 1948, to Joe and Julia Turner, and is one of five siblings (Tom Turner, Larry Turner, Nancy Rankin, and Rita Turner-Sheerin). She is survived by her two sons Aaron Embry & Jonathan Embry, five stepdaughters (Caren, Chimere, Chanell, Morgan, and Jordan), three bonus children (Dionne Embry, Leon Jackson, Jamal Warfield), 22 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, along with countless other informally adopted men and women across the country. Marge was an educator in the Indianapolis Public School System with most of her career spent at Forest Manor Junior High School. After retirement she co-founded and ran the Indianapolis Algebra Project, a private educational program aimed at improving the mathematics aptitude of individuals in her beloved city’s marginalized communities. She established scholarship funds and mentoring opportunities to assist promising minds achieve their academic dreams. She was a fierce advocate for social justice and spent countless hours volunteering and serving her community. Until we meet again, may the good Lord hold her in the palm of His hand. Services were held on February 1, 2025, with Leppert Mortuary and Crematory Services and she will rest at Crown Hill Cemetery with her family.
