Ron was born on August 31, 1940, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of the late Lindell Sydnor-Thomas and Noel Sydnor.
He was married on June 4, 1969, to Barbara Sydnor.
Ron is survived by his wife of 52 years, his sons Jason A. Sydnor (Tanya), and Jerred R. Sydnor (Jackie). Ron is also survived by eight grandchildren whom he loved so dearly (Chantel, Dionne, Kendra, Sierra, Talon, Aiden, Jane, and Juliet).
Ron’s love of children put him on the path to becoming an educator. He graduated from Greenville College with a bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology and received a master's in Elementary Education from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
During his career as an educator, Ron received the “Senior’s Choice Award,” recognizing him as one of the teachers that had contributed the most towards a graduating class’ learning experience, many times. Ron was also included in the “Who’s Who of American Teachers.” He also made many lifelong friends with the people with whom he worked.
Services will be held at Saint Luke's United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 12th at 10:30 am.
Because of Ron’s affection for children and animals, please consider a donation to Riley Children’s Hospital or Indy Humane in lieu of flowers.
