Mrs. Alexina MacDonald

MacDonald (Campbell), Alexina - 88. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alexina. Born on November 15, 1923, in Black River, Inverness Co. Alexina passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012, in Inverary Manor surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Cameron) Campbell. Alexina was a member of Stella Maris Church and CWL in Inverness. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and sister. She will be fondly remembered for her generosity; her faith and her warm hospitality, always guaranteed a cup of tea when you entered their home. Alexina married James Alexander (1947)and is survived by her children, Sandra (George) MacLean, Toronto; Donnie (Gloria), Campbellville, Ont.; Cathy (Ewen) MacEachen, Mabou; Wayne (Marie) , Glenville, Joan (late John) MacDonald, Port Hood; Hugh (Michelle), Dunvegan; Angie (Brian) Smith, Mabou; and Michele (Alex) Dixon, Strathlorne; sister, Marion Oickle, Antigonish. Alexina is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren all who loved her dearly.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jim Alex (1991); brother, Finlay Campbell; sisters, Mary Covell, Kay MacEachern and Theresa MacDougall.

Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Saturday October 27 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 29 at 11 a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Inverary Manor, Inverness or to Stella Maris Parish Cemetery Fund.
