

Born in Inverness on January 1, 1948, he was a son of the late Archibald and Margaret (MacKinnon) MacDonnell. Alfie was a member of Stella Maris Church, Inverness. Alfie lived in Montreal before turning home in the 70 ‘s. He lived in Inverary Manor for about ten years and enjoyed the comfort that was provided for him. Alfie was a kind and loving person that touched the heart of everyone he met. He loved to listen to country and western music and loved to be with his brother Lauchie, always doing something around the yard. Alfie will be missed by all who came to know him.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Florence (Jimmy) Gillis, Bathurst, New Brunswick; Shirley MacDonnell, Ottawa, Ont.; Margaret (Late Arthur) Roberts, Inverness; Josephine (Robert) Smith, Foot cape; Kathleen(Frankie) Smith, Inverside; Susie MacDonnell, Inverness; brothers, Ronald (Elizabeth), Laughlin (Ardyth), Alexander “Hubba” (Late Mary Catherine), William “Billy” (Josephine), all of Inverness; many nieces and nephews. Alfie was predeceased by sisters, Anna Marie, Norma and Donelda, brothers, Donnie and RD.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday February 17 in Inverness Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday February 18 at 11 a.m. in
Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial will be in the parish
Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Inverary Manor, Inverness or Central Inverness Palliative Care Society.
