Gillis, Angus Jerome Age- 83, of Inverness passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Inverness on September 23, 1929, Angus was a son of the late Alexander and Christina (MacMaster) Gillis. Angus was a member of Stella Maris Church, Inverness and worked for the Casket in Antigonish for about 20 years before returning home to retire at his home at Broad Cove Banks. Angus is survived by sisters, Margaret (Lloyd) Gillis, Norwell Mass.; Ann (Phonsie) MacDonald, Marshfield, Mass.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Father James, Father Kyte, Donald, Malcolm and sisters, Betty and Catherine. Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Sunday September 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 16 at 11 a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Stella Maris Church, Inverness.
