Bernard Joseph MacLeod 65, Judique Inverness County, passed away February 26,2020 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born June 29, 1954, he was the oldest son of the late Dan Allan and Margaret MacLeod, Port Hood . He was a fisherman’s helper most of his life, He fished with his longtime employer and friend Ronald Joseph Mac Donald of Long Point, until he had to retire due to illness. He loved fishing. He also loved hunting, fishing and four wheelin with his friend Dave Hunt. He loved the outdoors and Good Old Country Music, which you could always hear him sing along to. In his earlier years he was known for his great pitching arm , while enjoying a great game of ball with his neighbours and friends, John Angus MacIntyre and Frances MacDonald. He is survived by his wife, Rose , his pride and joy, children, Chris(Lisa), Alberta; John(Heidi)Alberta; Amanda(Mike)St. Peters; Kevin(Christine)Alberta; Evie(Sam)Alberta;, seven grandchildren , the loves of his life, Evan and Nic MacLeod, Alberta; Jaimee and Kameron McLean, Alberta; Emily, Cailin and Lucas Carter, St.Peters;, eight siblings, Ruthie(Lewis),Mary(Wessie), Colleen(Graham), Allan(Lisa),Stanley(Angela),Linda, Nancy(Mike),Pauline(Stephen); several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Anita, grandparents, Sophie and Edward Sr. Landry, Viola and Martin Sampson, many aunts and uncles. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff who have been so kind and caring to Bernie. Special thank you to Melissa, Melinda and Scott , Dr. Seliba, Dr. Ritter, Dr. Reha, extra special thank you to Lori Ann MacDonald who always went the extra mile, thank you for the extra shoulder to cry on Also special thank you to community and surrounding areas, neighbours and friends for all your support, caring prayers and words of comfort over the past number of months, heartfelt thank you, also special thank you to Jeddy MacDonald and Stanley MacLeod for always being on our speed dial. As per Bernie’s wishes, cremation has taken place, Funeral Mass and scattering of his ashes will take place at a later date.
