

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear mother, Catherine (Campbell) Hawley of Whycocomagh, and formerly of Nevada Valley, which occurred on Monday, June 6th, 2011, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born at home in Brook Village on December, 15th, 1919, she was a daughter of the late John Duncan and Mary Belle (MacKinnon) Campbell. She was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Church, Brook Village. Catherine was known for her style, love of card playing with her dear friends, her wisdom, strength and love. She was, and always will be, the glue that bound our family together. She was a deeply spiritual Lady and her faith guided her life from beginning to end.
She will be forever missed and loved by her children, Stewart (Cheryl), Kitchener, Ont.; Anne, Mabou; Tena, Whycocomagh; Daniel (Marg), Kitchener, Ont.; Cathy (Norbert) MacLellan, Troy; Margaret (Donald Francis) Beaton, Port Hood; Raymond (Nancy), Kitchener, Ont.; Patricia (Tony) DeAmorim, Kitchener, Ont.; Pauline (Fernando) Correia, Cambridge, Ont.; Theresa (Alex Fancsali), Waterloo, Ont.; Mary (Fernando) Medeiros , Cambridge, Ont.; her brother, Donald, Waltham, Mass.; 22 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren ; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lea; six brothers; three sisters; and one grandchild in infancy. Visitation will be held in the Vestry of St. Mary’s Church, Mabou on Tuesday June 7, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m., from St. John the Baptist Church, Brook Village with Fr. Angus Morris officiating, burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or to St. John the Baptist Cemetery Fund, Brook Village.
Her homestead in “the Valley” will always be remembered by her children as the family home where many memories were made and stories were told.
