

It is with great sadness that we announce his sudden passing on January 29 in Myrtle Beach, USA while on vacation.
Born in Kentville he was the son of the late Cyril and Mabel Hatfield. He was predeceased by his brother Donnie.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 47 years, Jean (Wong), daughters: Andrea (Jerome) Beaton, Hammonds Plains; Jacalyn (Richard) Leeco; Bedford, grandchildren, Liam, Mitchell and Lowell Beaton; Nolan, Victoria, Hanna and Ella Leeco; with whom he spent countless hours on the golf course and in hockey rinks.
Bob is also survived by his sister; Joan (Ken) Stevens, nephews Troy and Derek, Dartmouth and brother Jake (Sue) Berwick.
Bob retired after 37 years with the Royal Bank, working in, Pictou, Halifax, Gander, Louisbourg and Port Hood. He continued to work as a tax preparer and bookkeeper.
Active in the community, Bob served on various committees; such as the Alan MacInnis Sports Centre and was always willing to lend support and offer advice. He continued with his love of sports through various aspects such as coaching minor hockey and ball. In his retirement he enjoyed golfing, downhill skiing and walking. Visitation will be in Port Hood Resting Place on Sunday February 6, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday February 7, at 11 a.m. from St. Peter's Church, Port Hood, burial to take place at a later date.
