Dear Aunt Myrt and family, 
Though our visits were far and few,it is with great sadness to lose our Uncle Charlie. He had the greatest smile and those eyebrows would draw your attention and his kindness was extended to all that crossed his path. He loved Cape Breton and it is here that he came home to. RIP Uncle Charlie.

Christmas is coming and it saddens me to say that i won't get to spend it with grandpa i miss him so much i will feel a little better if i put something else in the guest book. RIP grandpa i miss you so much so raise those glasses of water and wine clean and cut that freshly caught trout and let's sit down and have a dinner and toast one last time to grandpa because he deserves it he will be forever missed by his friends and family. Tear after tear cry after cry i just want to stay home from school and let my feelings out but i know grandpa would not want me saddened by his passing for the rest of my school days he would want me to get up and go to school and do my very best to get great marks and being successful and that is what i am doing right now and even though grandpa is not here to congratulate me i know that he is doing that somewhere else and that is what grandpas are for right to be there for their loved ones and that is what grandpa charlie did and is still doing just not on this earth. So when ever i feel sad and miss grandpa i know that he is somewhere special looking down on me congratulating me wishing me luck and encouraging me to do my best through the good times and the bad and to keep moving forward because that is what counts to quote Rocky Balboa '''It ain't about how hard ya hit it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward how much you can take and keep moving forward that's how winning is done'' and that is what i am doing with a loving grandpa watching me and for that i am thankful i guess this it its time for my next adventure now but but i will never forget even in the darkest times that grandpa is still there and for that i am so thankful more than i can put into words. This is the end on earth for grandpa but it is not the end in OUR HEARTS and as long as we know he is there we will be alright but still sad goodbye grandpa love you always your grandson Sean Frank MacDonald P.S what is Christmas like in heaven? Dear Myrt and family: I was shocked and saddened to hear of Charlie's passing.  I have fond memories as a teenager spending time with you both in Orangedale at the cabin, playing cards or fishing/hunting.  Seems like only yesterday. I remember his smile and wit.  As an example, I hit a deer once with my car, left the car and hitch-hiked to North Sydney.  I stood there still in shock and told Charlie and his brother Jerry what happened.  Charlie looked me square in the eye, put his arm around me and said: "Oh my God! Did you keep the deer?"  We laughed for 10 minutes.  RIP Charlie.

Dear Late Charles Joseph MacDonald, Our Hearts are broken now that your chair at the Family Dining table is no longer filled your laughter, love of crab, lobster, Mom's Lemonade custard pie. The way your eyes would sparkle when you were faced with a newly butter basted Turkey, with mashed potatoes so lovingly prepared by Myrtle, your wife.  The way you would always let Her know that there was no other turkey supper that he would have rather eaten.  Forever the Gentleman, You would surprise Her with roses on her Birthday, Easter, or an, "I Love You"bouquet of beautifully scented floral arrangement.  Myrtle would Lovingly touch your hand and extend a well placed kiss on your cheek. By doing this, the viewer of Whomever would witness this visual proof of how an ever-lasting Love should be never taken for granted. I was blessed to have witnessed My Late Father-in-Law, Charles Joseph MacDonald do that on more the one occasion. Thank You for being an example that your Family can follow. It is with sadness that I am unable to attend today for the service of out kin "Charles Joseph MacDonald" as he is laid to rest. My thoughts and prayers are with the "MacDonald Clan" today but most of all for Aunt Myrte with her loss. Uncle Charlie was a strong branch on the tree of the "Mac Donald Clan" as a Husband, Father, Grandfather,Great Grandfather, Uncle and Brother. He will be missed by many, but not forgotten.

I only met Charlie maybe once or twice in my life but wish I could have gotten to know him better - Seems he was a pretty good guy from everyone's description.  Glad that he enjoyed his time in Cape Breton with Myrtle.

I don't know what to say forgive me if my punctuation and spelling aren't all correct I am in shock and i am having a hard time writing this i am even in tears . I am so sad I can't find words to describe how sad I am he was my grandfather I loved him dearly I loved his smile, laugh and kind heart. I only got to see him once a year in the summer I didn't see this year but I did last year in summer 2015 that was the last time I saw him and i am so glad that i gave  him one last hug before i said my goodbyes. One of the fondest memories i have of grandpa is him sitting on the couch reading an old western book. This hit me so hard it feels like i got hit by a train. I miss so many things about Cape Breton finding beach glass, playing with grandmas cats, walking along the property, feeding the ducks so many things i would do with grandma and grandpa and i created so many loving memories that i will forever remember and cherish and hold close to my heart i miss grandpa so much. It saddens me to say that the grandma and grandpa pack has gone down to one i hope he is in heaven and to whomever is reading this i will be very honest i was shy around grandpa sometimes but i knew he loved me and i knew that he knew that i loved him and still do even though he is gone. May all the things you love be with you in the after life i can say SO much more on this but i will just end it by saying RIP grandpa i will never be the same i miss you so much i will always love you you were my grandpa the one and only grandpa Charlie i am very sad that you are gone goodbye grandpa amen toast to a great man who had a great life surrounded by people who loved him and a toast to a great man who will hopefully have all those things in heaven amen. You taught me to follow my dreams and never give up to do my best you taught me so many important life lessons for which i am so thankful.  you also taught me how to feed the ducks i love that. i will miss the farms and all the life and things on it and all the memories i will carry with me for the rest of my life until i see you again. I am so saddened by Charlie's passing. I will always remember his welcoming smile and countless stories .  My mom and dad thought the world of both Charlie and Myrtle.  So hard to believe.  Take comfort in the many cherished memories you all have of him and keep them close to your hearts.  Forever in ours.

RIP Charlie, Proud to have had you as my Godfather.

RIP Sr . May your lines always be tight with speckle trout on the other side and many big bucks come sneaking down the runways  .
