

Harper, Clement Anthony "Clemmie", Age 76 of Inverness, passed away on Tuesday Nov 14, 2017 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Inverness on May 7, 1941, he was a son of the late Joe and Elizabeth (Larade) Harper. He was a member of Stella Maris Church, Inverness. He worked in Inverness for 25 years with Inverness County Public Works and was a Volunteer Fireman. He also was a member of the Board of Directors of Inverness Filene Credit Union. In his younger years he was an active horseman and was a member of the Inverness Raceway Executive. In 1974, Clem and Delia opened C&D Canteen known as "Clemmie's", which operated out of their home for 15 years. Clemmie is survived by his wife, Delia (Smith) of 54 years; children, Mark (Elaine), Peter, Inverness; Kurt (Carrie), Truro; Roger (Tracey), Port Hawkesbury; Charlene (Robert), Halifax; brothers, Stanley (late Theresa), Johnny; sisters, Kaye (late Allister), Sandra, Ann (Alex) and Shirley; ten grandchildren, five great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy, Josephine and Mona (late John Archie). Visitation will be held in Stella Maris Church, Inverness on Saturday, November 18th from 1-1:45 p.m. with Funeral Mass to follow at 2 p.m. Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial to follow in Stella Maris Parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or to Stella Maris Parish Cemetery Fund, Inverness.
