Donald "Katie Ann" MacDonald

MacDonald, Donald "Katie Ann" passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016, in his beloved Glencoe Mills. Born in Glencoe Mills, May 9, 1934, Donald was a son of the late Katie Ann (Campbell) and the late Alex Angus MacDonald. Donald was a farmer and woodsman and generally a jack-of-all trades. What he couldn't buy he made using whatever was available. He generously made his talents available to his parish and community. Donald is survived by sisters, Mary Cassie (Colin) MacDonnell, Port Hood; Annie Mae (Donnie) MacDonald, Port Hood; Mary Ann, Inverary Manor, Inverness; Jessie (Angus) Beaton, Mabou; sister in-law, Marion MacLeod, Mabou; ten nephews and nieces, twenty three grand nephews and nieces. Donald was predeceased by brothers, John Dan and Francis; nephew, Glen MacDonald and special cousin, Isabel Campbell. Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 9 in the vestry of St. Mary's Church, Mabou from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Glencoe, with Fr. Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations in Donald's memory may be made to St. Joseph's Cemetery Fund, Glencoe, or to St. Joseph's Parish, Glencoe or a charity of your choice.
