Doris Christine White

White Doris Christine, Age 61 passed away on Monday July 14, 2014, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital with family by her side. Born in Glace Bay on January 28, 1953, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Dolly (Woods) MacLean. She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish, Mabou, Doris loved to bake, play cards and enjoyed the company of many especially her grandchildren. Doris will be sadly missed by her husband and family as well as all who came to know her. Doris is survived by her husband, Daniel A.; Children, Susan (Duane) Shay, David (Elspeth), Stephen (Julie), Brent (Tracey); sisters, Norma MacKinnon, Betty Clements; eight grandchildren; many nieces and nephews Doris is predeceased by brother, Daniel in infancy; sisters, Sheila Haley, Margie Morrison, Mary Lou Navarole. Cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be held in the Vestry of St. Mary’s Church, Mabou on Sunday, July 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 21 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Mabou with Fr. Angus Morris officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery Fund, Mabou, or to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society.
