MacKinnon, Ernest Duncan of Inverness formally of Glenville, passed away on Saturday October 15th, 2022 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Saint Mary's Hospital, Inverness on July 11th, 1962. He was a son of Helen MacKinnon (MacIsaac) and the late Ronald MacKinnon. He was a member of Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Inverness.
Duncan was a truck driver who traveled the ice roads. He owned his own business E.D. MacKinnon Trucking Ltd and was an avid snowmobiler and a member of Inverness Capers Snowmobile Club. Duncan's passion was harness racing, especially the joy of watching his girl, JJ Scarlett. He enjoyed the videos and pictures he received almost daily from his daughter of her horse Arabella, it always put a smile on his face. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and past Grand Knight of Council 2298, Inverness.
He is survived by his daughter, Beverly MacKinnon (Anthony); mother, Helen (Fred); sisters, Dorothy Young, Kentville, Charlene (Richard) Stewart of Inverness, Mary MacKinnon, Waterville; brother, Angus (Karen) MacKinnon, London, ON.
He was predeceased by his father, Ronald MacKinnon; brothers, Ronald Allen MacKinnon, John Lauchie MacKinnon; brother-in-law, Bernard (Jr.) Young and sister-in-law, Leeann MacKinnon; god-mother, Mary Beaton as well as his beloved dog, Dexter.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Visitation for the late Duncan MacKinnon will be held on Friday October 21st, in Stella Maris Church, Inverness from 10 -10:45 a.m. with Funeral Mass to follow at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Saint Margaret of Scotland Parish Cemetery, Broad Cove.
