

MacDonald, Florence Margaret – age 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in her beloved North East Mabou on December 4, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Allan and Flora Ann (MacEachern) Rankin. Predeceased by her loving husband, Dan Angus, on August 20, 1993, Florence was a devoted wife, loving Mother, grand mother, and a great grand-mother. She had great faith in God, strength in spirit and passed great coping skills on to her family. We will treasure her memory and carry her in our hearts forever. She is survived by eleven children, three daughters and eight sons; Mary Deagle, Truro; Christine MacDonald (Jerome), Harbourview; Cathy, Windsor, Ont., sons, Hugh James, Little Judique Ponds; Donald, Angus (Emily) Allan, Albert, all of Windsor, Ont; Andrew, John and William, Toronto Ont.; several nieces and nephews, thirteen grand children and seven great grand children. She was predeceased by three sisters, Katie Ann, Jessie Ann and Catherine, brothers, John, John Alex and Angus, Florence was a member of St. Peter’s Church, Port Hood; and a member of the CWL for 64 years. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 1, 2011 in Port Hood and Area Resting Place from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday January 3, 2011 in St. Peter’s Church, Port Hood with Fr. Victor Ozoufuanya officiating. Burial at a later date in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Peter’s parish cemetery fund, Port Hood or to a charity of your choice. Our Mother will be deeply missed by her family and many friends; however her presence will never be far away.
