

Born July 27, 1921, in Dunvegan, she was the daughter of the late Danny Neil and Mary Agnes (MacIsaac) MacLennan.
Nan received her early education in Dunvegan School and proceeded to complete her studies at Provincial Normal College in Truro. She taught school in Dunvegan, Creignish and Millville and then joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. While stationed in Germany, Nan became ill and returned to the homestead on Victoria Road. After regaining her health, she resumed her teaching career at Port Hastings' School until her retirement. She retired with her two sisters in Inverness and in her last years in Antigonish. She resided at Green Meadows Community Residence in North Grant until her death.
Nan will be remembered as a prayerful woman of great faith, and for her glamorous appearance and quick wit.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Sr. Loretta, Sister of Good Shepherd, Marie and Imelda (Joe) Rankin; brothers, Bernie (Gert) and Josie.
Her remains will rest in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove, Wednesday, January 16 from 12:30PM to the time of the Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated with Fr. Danny MacLennan officiating.
Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
