Kathleen 'Kay' Fraser

FRASER (MacNEIL), Kathleen — Born March 14, 1925, died peacefully surrounded by loving husband Willie and family at Inverary Manor, Inverness on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Kathleen was the last living family member of A.R. and Mary Tena (Campbell) MacNeil family from Deepdale. She was a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, Broad Cove. Kathleen had a very fulfilling and active life. After raising 12 children, nine boys and three girls, Kathleen decided to venture into the workforce. She was employed at Inverary Manor for 18 years which gave her much joy and satisfaction. She also was a member of the Coiser an Eilean (Gaelic singing group) which created many memorable social events in her life. Her favorite hockey team was the Toronto Maple Leafs, win or lose, she cheered them on. One of the family favorite traditions was her biscuits and the Christmas espan. Kathleen is survived and dearly remembered by husband, Willie; sons, Roddie (Docile), Port Hawkesbury; Billy, Deepdale; A.R. (Claire), Strathlorne; Wayne (Marlow), Winnipeg; Gary (Lucy), Deepdale; Eugene (Sandra), Inverness; Doug (Carrie), Deepdale; Eric, Dartmouth; Gerald (Susan), Halifax; daughters, Maureen (Larry Doyle), Prince Edward Island; Clare (Cameron) MacQuarrie, Inverside; Kathleen Livingstone, Ontario; 25 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation in Inverness Funeral Home, Sunday, April 4, 3-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove, Monday, April 5, at 11 a.m., Rev. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Interment will be in Broad Cove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Inverary Manor Auxiliary, and/or Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
