Mary Evelyn MacPherson

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mary Evelyn (Hart) MacPherson announces her peaceful passing on July 28th, 2015, at the age of 89, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. She was born in Glace Bay, daughter of David and Sarah (MacLeod), and adopted by Alex S. and Cassie MacLellan, St Rose. Mary was a hard worker all her life; a mother of seventeen and a farm with cattle to look after. For a time, she managed to do a mail route from Dunvegan to Margaree Harbour by horse and wagon. Mary is survived by children, Jimmy, Sarah (Jerry) Beaton, Theresa (Gene) Childs, Dan (Donna), Donnie (Joanne), Mary Florence, John Roddie (Rose), Catherine (Art), Annie Mae (Freddie) MacDonald, Duncan, Isabel (Roddie) MacDougall, Lewie, Jeanette (Wesley) Albers, Hugh, Evelyn (Stewart) Chisholm and Dennis (Tracey). Her 25 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her husband, John Danny; and son, Alexander (Teresa). Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Friday July 31st from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be held at 11am on Saturday in St. Margret of Scotland Church, Broad Cove, with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations made be made to St. Margret's of Scotland Cemetery Fund Broad Cove.
