

O’CONNOR (MACISAAC), MARY ISABEL "Sissy", 75, Sydney and Inverness, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Cape Breton Regional Hospital August 25, 2014. Born in Inverness, Inverness Co., she was a daughter of the late Joseph D. MacIsaac and Mary Margaret "Mendy" Kennedy. She was a gifted teacher who helped and encouraged many to further their education. She loved teaching and was relentless in promoting the interests of her students.Surviving are her granddaugter, Lainie and daughter-in-law, Paula and her children, Aerial and Louie; brothers, Joseph (Benjamina) MacIsaac, John (Margie) MacIsaac, and Connie MacIsaac, C.N.D; nieces, Lynn and Judi and nephews, Joe, Bruce, Lennan and Robert; great-grandnieces, Kristen and Meriha and great-grandnephews, Keenan, Archie and Angus.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd O’Connor; daughter, Elaine O’Connor and son, George 0’Connor; siblings, Mary Elizabeth MacIsaac, Dougald MacIsaac, Dianne MacIsaac and John MacIsaac.
Visitation will take place Friday, August 29, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. in Inverness Funeral Home. Funeral mass will take place on Saturday, August 30, at 10 a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness, with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery . In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or the charity of your choice.
