Nellie Marie Chisholm

Nellie Marie Chisholm, Passed away peacefully June 22, 2015 with her family by her side in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Wife of the late Lawrence “Lolly” Chisholm. Nellie was born in Inverness, a daughter of the late “Joe Pat” and Mary Romard on December 8,1938. Survived by her daughters, Carol (Glenn) MacIntyre, Burlington, Ont.; Dona (Jim) Ripoll, New Glasgow and granddaughters, Chelsea, Mickaela, Bethany and grandson, Carson; sisters, Jeanette (James) Cameron, Anita Allen, Yvonne (Smokey) MacIsaac; brothers, Clifford (Roberta) Romard and Edmond (Kay) Romard. Nellie will be missed by all who came to know her.

She was predeceased by husband, Lawrence, and sister, Marius MacDonald. An avid sports fan, Nellie was interested in all sports and shared this interest with her husband for many years. She was a sharp card player and loved her bingo. Prior to being afflicted with MS Nellie was an athletic person who excelled in any sport she tried. Her quiet pride in her grandchildren was exemplified by the photos and stories she would share with everyone that stopped by to visit her in the Manor. A special thank you to the Inverary Manor staff for the endless care and support of Nellie which enriched her life immensely.

Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 24, from 7-9 p.m. Funereal mass will be June 25th at 11a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness, with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or to Stella Maris Parish Cemetery Fund, Inverness.
