Sandra Marie Elizabeth Mac Neil, 58, Mabou, (Glenville) entered her eternal home, June 29, 2011. Sandra was born in Inverness on Coronation Day June 2, 1953. Sandra’s amazing faith and love will warmly remain in the hearts of all her family and friends. Sandra was a very well respected nurse, who exemplified Florence Nightingale’s bedside manner since 1975, in Calgary, Toronto, Halifax, Antigonish, and Inverness.
Sandra was an active member of the Pro-life Movement, was a Lay Carmelite and member of several Catholic Prayer Groups. Sandra was predeceased by her dad, Donnie Mac Neil, her step father, Andrew Mac Lellan, her little sister Iris Jean and her nephew Kramer Gerard Cameron. Sandra is loved and will be fondly missed by her mom, Flora Mac Lellan, her brothers and sisters; Don (Theresa), Whycocomagh; Bill (Carole), Mabou; Marcella (Gerard) Cameron, Calgary; Eileen (Richard) Ross, P.E.I.; John Francis(Charlene),Sharon ( John) Frith, Bedford; Marguerite(Leonard) Beaton, Mabou; Raymond(Heather),Fairview; Charlotte(Stanley) Cameron, Mabou ; all 39 nieces and nephews, and 10 grand nieces and nephews of whom she is a proud supporter.
Visitation will be held in the Vestry of St. Mary’s Church, Mabou on Thursday, June 30 from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, at 11 am. in St. Mary’s Church, Mabou with Rev. Angus Morris officiating, Internment in the parish cemetery. In Lieu of flowers you may donate to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society, Kidney Foundation or to St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery Fund, Mabou.
