Charles Friday Jr.

Charles Friday, Jr. passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022 in Iowa Park, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park with Pastor Tim Franks officiating. Graveside services will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the funeral home.

Charles was born April 5, 1935 to Charlie and Ora (Cannada) Friday in Roxton, Texas. He married the love of his life, Claudia Robinson, on June 30, 1956. Charles worked for Owens Country Sausage as a Route Man for many years and was so proud of his career, speaking of it often. After retirement, he worked at Patterson Auto Center as a Courtesy Driver. Charles loved the Dallas Cowboys, never missing a game unless it was due to blackout restrictions.

Charles and his family moved to Iowa Park on December 7, 1968 to work for Owens. He loved Iowa Park and the Iowa Park Hawks, and Iowa Park loved Charles in return. To him, there was never another place to be. Iowa Park was his forever home until he went to see the Lord.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Claudia and Son Farley Friday; brothers, Calvin Friday, Gerald Friday, Duyane Friday; and sisters, Faye Drain, Helen Richards, Lois McCommis and Lorriane Bates.

Surviving relatives include his son, Daryl Friday and wife Susan of Austin, Texas; daughter, Karla Neal and husband Greg of Iowa Park; five grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren

The family would like to say thank you to the Red River Bluegrass Organization. Charles loved them all so very much and went every Thursday night. The family would also like to thank Iowa Park Health Care Center for their love and care for their dad for the past two months as his health declined.
