Doris Janet Denton

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ted Spear, pastor, Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park, Texas.

Doris was born January 13, 1929 in Wink, Texas to Clyde and Nell (McDonald) Fowler. She married Henry Leon Denton, Sr. December 24, 1946 in Leveland, Texas. She was a forklift operator for Surgikos Company in Wichita Falls for several years. Doris loved working in her yard, reading and was an avid bowler. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park for many years. She moved to Hamilton 6 months ago after living in Iowa Park since the early 1950’s. She lived in New Mexico and West Texas prior to moving to Iowa Park.

Her parents, husband, son, Thomas Nathan Denton and 3 siblings, Billy Joe Fowler, Clyde Allen Fowler and Mary Jewel Cork preceded her in death.

She is survived by Henry L. Denton, Jr. and his wife, Christine of Kenosha, Wisconsin; Connie J. Denton of Hamilton, Texas; Jimmy C. Denton and wife, Valarie of Iowa Park, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Kimberly, Thomas, Krystal, Shannon, Scott, Michael and Tami and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.
