Gay Yvonne Johnson Hicks

Gay Yvonne Hicks of Iowa Park, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, December 22 at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home with Rick Ross, Pastor, Liberty Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

Gay was born March 1, 1935 in Newcastle, Texas to Ben and Ruby Johnson. She was married on April 7, 1951 to Johnie Joe Hicks with their marriage lasting 42 wonderful years. Gay was a longtime homemaker who was deeply devoted to her family. “Nana” nurtured and shaped the lives of three generations of children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnie; daughter, Jo Ann; and six siblings.

Gay is survived by her sons, Stephen and his wife, Sherri; Gregory and his wife, Lisa; and Rusty Allen. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Deidre Allen; Michael and wife, Deidre Hicks; Melissa and husband, Brandon Hiracheta; and Darrington Hicks, as well as five great grandchildren.
