Born May 8, 1933, to James Watt and Myrtle Etna Hobbs

Gladys was a retired banker working in numerous banks in Iowa Park and Wichita Falls. She enjoyed travelling, listening to music, and flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene C. Shawver in 2023 and her husband Derrill Kirkland in 1959, a son, Russell Shawver in 2013, and siblings John Hobbs, Wallace Hobbs, Thelma Argeanes, Lorena Johnson, Christine Wilson, and Dorthy Sadler.

Gladys is survived by a sister, Beverly Noel of Iowa Park, sons Ricky Kirkland and wife Charlette of Wichita Falls, Randel Shawver and wife Linda of Tennessee, Daughter in law Terah Shawver of Arizona, widow of Russell, and grandchildren Robert Kirkland, Leah Kirkland Scott, Austin Kirkland, Megan McGowan, Alex Shawver, Nathaniel Shawver, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In leu of flowers the family asks for donations to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
