Jerry Kimes "Jed" Simmons

Jerry Kimes “Jed” Simmons, 72, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 in Wichita Falls. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home. Graveside Services will follow at Highland Cemetery Pavilion under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.

Jed was born September 11, 1940 in Wichita Falls to Curtis P. and Rosanna (Hendricks) Simmons. He married Maggie Dale Kenyon on November 13, 1963 in Henrietta, Texas. She passed away on July 22, 2011. He was a veteran, serving in the US Army. Jed worked for 16 years as a Horse Jockey and has worked for 49 years as a Truck Driver. He married Lois Money on March 16, 2012 in Pleasant Valley, Texas.

Jed is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maggie Simmons; one son, Kenneth Simmons; two brothers, Pete and Dean Simmons; and his sister, Sue Lee.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Lois Bolding-Simmons of Wichita Falls; daughter, Pamela Bell; daughter, Janice Mowery; and son, Keith Simmons, all of Iowa Park; son, Michael “Ed” Blankenship of Seattle, Washington; daughter, Tiffany C. Blankenship of Anchorage, Alaska; son, Zach D. Bolding of Wichita Falls; brother, Freddie Simmons of Iowa Park; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Dutton Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
