Shirley J Alsup, a beloved resident of Wichita Falls, Texas, went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on October 27, 1934, in Archer City, Texas, Shirley was the oldest of four siblings and spent much of her life as a cherished member of the Iowa Park community.
Shirley was known for her humorous and devoted nature. She dedicated 24 years of her career as a secretary in the Iowa Park school districts, where she was admired for her commitment and work ethic.
On August 3, 1952, Shirley married Jimmy Alsup in Megargel, Texas. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. Shirley was deeply devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she had a special affection for her animals. Her family includes her daughter Georgia Alsup, her daughter-in-law Denise Alsup, and her grandchildren Collin Alsup, Tiffany McCalip, Hayley Warren, and Todd Alsup, among others. Shirley was preceded in death by her sons Randy and Ricky Alsup, and her great-grandson Cooper McCalip.
In her personal time, Shirley enjoyed arts and crafts, loved to paint, and played the piano. Her creativity and passion for these hobbies brought joy to those around her.
A visitation will be held at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas, on January 21, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the First Baptist Church Of Iowa Park, on January 22, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Shirley will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery of Iowa Park.
Pallbearers will include Collin Alsup, Weston McCalip, Luke Warren, Todd Alsup, Jeff Collins, and David Warren. Honorary pallbearers will be Tatum McCalip, Brooks McCalip, and Caden Warren.
Shirley's life was a testament to the love and devotion she shared with her family and community. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
