

Vern Horsky, 82, born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went to be with the Lord, November 27, 2014 while in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a former resident of Iowa Park. Vern moved to Iowa Park to be part of the startup team for Cryovac as the Materials Control Manager. He was with Cryovac for 36 years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, an ordained Deacon, active in the music ministry, and a charter member of the North West Texas Men’s Chorus. Vern was a volunteer fireman and on the Planning and Zoning Committee. He was an active participant of Builders for Christ and SOWERS, two volunteer groups that built churches throughout the United States.
His parents, a brother and grandson preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Joan of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Gail Fuqua of Dallas, Texas and Cheryl Mayberry of Wichita Falls, Texas; a son, David of Tooele, Utah; four grandchildren, Randy York, Sarah Snodgrass, Jennifer York, Laura Ortowski; 7 great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 pm Monday, December 1, 2014 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kile Bateman of Evangel Temple of Wichita Falls officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park, Texas.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
