

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Iowa Park, with her son, Mr. Tim Hunter, and Rev. Glen Pearce, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. in Gillespie Cemetery in Knox County, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home, Iowa Park.
Wanna was born December 20, 1931 in Munday, Texas. Her parents were Ed Johnson and wife, Mary (Allen) Johnson. She and Alton Ray Hunter were married October 27, 1951 in Munday, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1987. Wanna was a 60-year member of First Baptist Church and was very active with Vacation Bible School and participated in all activities involving children. She was a member of ESA, and was instrumental in bringing the first swimming pool to Iowa Park. She was the first woman to get Honorary Chapter Farmer from the Iowa Park FFA Chapter. Wanna was also preceded in death by 4 sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Hunter of Harker Heights, Texas, and a son, Tim Hunter and wife, Phyllis, of Iowa Park; two grandchildren, Ky and Shani Hunter of Mesquite, Texas, and Lindsay and Matt Parker of Harrison, Arkansas; and three great grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to Wichita County Humane Society or the Iowa Park Volunteer Fire Department.
