Al was born June 6, 1968, in Eden, North Carolina, to the late Alfred Henry Ellington Jr. and the late Alice “Gay” Ellington. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Catherine Ruth Coltrane Ellington. Al was a good-hearted person that loved family and friends alike. He was a hard-working man with many professions during his life including forklift operator, truck driver and real estate agent.
Al’s passion as a young man was music. He loved to play guitar and listened to music with friends and family, until the middle of the night. Al loved this wife Cathy dearly. He cared for her during her convalescence in the later years of her life and never left her side during the roughest of times. Al will be sorely missed by everyone that had the pleasure to know him.
Al is survived by his brother, Brian Thomas Ellington and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
