
Anne Liss, 81, nurse and tender caregiver, died January 10, 2017. Born in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of the late John Buriel and Laura Ella Kolb Liss. She was also predeceased by her brothers, John Liss and David Liss.
After receiving her degree in nursing in New Jersey she moved to Columbia and graduated from Columbia International University. She continued to excel in her work and earned her Masters in Public Health from USC. After extensive clinical experience, Anne joined the State Board of Health and served as liaison to Governor Dick Riley. She retired as a nurse with the SC Department of Public Health.
Anne, a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, was faithful to the church prayer group and participated in numerous mission trips. In all things her love for her Lord Jesus Christ was foremost. She continually gave generously of her time, her resources and her heart in caring for others.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
