Barbara Anne Ramsey

Barbara Anne Ramsey, 77, of Chapin, South Carolina passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22nd, surrounded by her family. Barbara was born and raised in Orlando, Florida and retired to Chapin in 2011. She graduated from Winter Park High School and Brevard College and spent 33 years of her career with Lockheed Martin as an Administrator. Barbara was fiercely loyal to her family and friends, faithful, humble and had an amazing sense of humor. She loved animals and was an incredible pet parent spoiling many dogs and cats with affection throughout her lifetime including her dog Skippy, and cat Jaspurr. David Ramsey was the love of her life and the foundation for her happiness. Her greatest joy was being a mom and “Grammy” to her children and grandchildren, and she took every opportunity she could to tell you how proud she was of each of them. Barbara will be dearly missed by us all and always remembered.

Barbara was predeceased by her father, Donald Dines Riddle and her mother, Caroline Mills Riddle. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, David; daughter, Kim Weber (Rob), Irmo; sons Bill Hooker (Lori), Charlotte and Matt Townsend (Shelley), Atlanta; sisters Linda Riddle, Tallahassee and Martha Guenthner, Spartanburg; and six grandchildren – Cody, Olivia, Katie, Allie, Aubrie, Rylie. Barbara requested a celebration of life with her immediate family be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services.
