COLUMBIA - A Memorial Service for Betty L. Shealy will be held at noon on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo. The family will receive friends following the service. Mrs. Shealy passed away peacefully Saturday, November 25, 2017, with her family by her side. Born in Allendale, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Ruth Youmans. She was the wife of the late Lonnie L. Shealy. She is survived by her son, Cody Shealy (Susan) of Lexington; daughters, Gina “Liz” Abio of Dallas, TX, Robin Jones (Kenny) of Ballentine, and Ashley Kirshtein (Michael) of Charleston. Affectionately known as “Me-Mo”, she is also survived by her grandchildren, Tom Joyce, Jr. (Shayna), Hunter and Ally Shealy, Josh and Hannah Jones, Courtney and Haley Abio, Rachel, Samantha, Chai and Jett Kirshtein; and great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Tommy Joyce III. Mrs. Shealy was the CEO of the Shealy family where was her children’s biggest cheerleader coaching softball, playing and teaching her children tennis. She also enjoyed some part time work at The Sunroom and was a substitute teacher. Her kindness was contagious and anyone who knew her, loved her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her special sitters with Angel Care, Julia and additional staff with Heartstrings Hospice, for their loving touch and compassionate care.
