

Denise Margaret Betoski, age 82 of Chapin, SC, formerly of Hillman, MI, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2023 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and devout Catholic.
Denise was born in Detroit, MI on September 12, 1940 to Cyril (Curley) and Ada (Shields) Hubert. She graduated from Hillman High School (Salutatorian) and received an Associates in Accounting degree from Saginaw Valley Business Institute.
Denise was married to her loving husband of 61 years, Edwin Betoski. They were married on October 7, 1961 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Alpena, MI. They began their married life together in Saginaw, MI then moved to Hillman, MI in 1962 where they raised their family in a lovely home on Long Lake. Denise was a member of the Hillman School Board of Education and the St. Augustine Catholic Church St. Vincent DePaul Society. In 1983, Edwin and Denise moved to Clemson, SC then to Irmo, SC and lived there until 2006. From 2006-2016, they lived in Sevierville, TN at which time the couple lost everything in a catastrophic forest fire. For the past 7 years, they have called Chapin, SC their home.
Denise was a proud Broker/Owner of Century 21 franchises in Hillman, Atlanta and Lewiston for many years while residing in Hillman. After moving to South Carolina, she worked as an account supervisor for Wilbur Smith Engineers in Columbia, then as a sales associate at the Liberty Store in Dollywood while living in Sevierville. Denise enjoyed spending quality time with loved ones, quilting, puzzling, reading, and playing solitaire on her iPad.
Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Cyril and Ada Hubert and her sister Janice. She is survived by her husband Edwin, her son Joseph (Deborah) Betoski, her daughter Tamara (Joseph) Simpson, her grandchildren (Joseph Jr, Bradley, Jonathan and Emily), sister Judy (Herman) Elkie, nephews (Todd and Aaron) and niece Renee.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2023 at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church in Chapin, SC. The Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, with visitation following until 7:30 p.m.
There will also be a memorial service held in Hillman, Michigan sometime later this Spring.
