Dennis Michael Foley

COLUMBIA, SC - Dennis M. Foley, 76, was born July 2, 1941. He was a devoted husband of Judy for 34 years and father of Michael (Pam) of Foley, Painesville; Lisa Foley, (Kord Brazell) of Columbia, SC; stepfather of Chris Bednar (Terri) of Munroe Falls; grandfather of Julia Foley, Max and Mitch Spittler, Emily Vanek, and Anna Bednar. He was the eldest son of Mildred and Donald Foley, and brother of Donna Gill, Sharyn Hinman (Reed), Rosemary Turner (Dean), and Kevin Foley (Lynn). Dennis had a long and successful career in real estate and home construction in Lake County as Broker/Manager of the first Smythe Cramer (now Howard Hanna) office in Mentor. Then he became a partner with his brother, Kevin, in Shamrock Construction, one of the premier home building companies in Lake and Geauga Counties. He was a graduate of North High School and a proud U.S. Air Force veteran. In 2008, Dennis retired and he and Judy traveled throughout the country, spending winters in Florida. Dennis had many loves - his beautiful family, his beautiful Harley, fishing, and his vintage cars. He died on October 28, 2017, while vacationing with his wife at Dreher Island State Park in South Carolina visiting his daughter. A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held at Hellriegel’s Inn, 1840 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is assisting the family.
