COLUMBIA Elinor Pais Fatato passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, surrounded by loving family.
Elinor was born in Tarrytown, NY on January 2, 1955, and was a longtime resident of New York before settling in Irmo, SC. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Elio and Jennie Pais. She is survived by her children, Janelle Pietrobono (Joe), Angela Williams (Robert), and Philip Fatato; and brothers, Joe Pais (Maryellen) and Frank Pais; sisters, Janet Pais-O'Gorman and Mary Pais.
Elinor was a devoted grandmother and cherished time with her grandchildren. She shared her life with her long-time partner, Philip Cardone, and together they enjoyed spending much of their time visiting family and friends.
Elinor graduated from Irvington High School and later furthered her education at Pace University in Westchester, NY and found joy in being a dedicated school teacher. With her knack for sales and marketing and her experience as a business owner, Elinor spent her later years as an account manager where she thrived and made life-long relationships with those that she worked with.
Guided by her faith, Elinor was a devout follower of Christ. She was full of life. She never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on those she met. She was selfless, kind, and she was always thinking of others. Known for her incredible Italian dishes and storytelling about her life in New York, Elinor’s home was filled with warmth and laughter. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will forever be a source of inspiration to her loved ones, who will always hold her close in their hearts.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Dunbar Funeral Home, 7600 Woodrow St, Irmo, SC 29063. Visitation will follow the service.
