

A man of steadfast faith and devotion, Gene drew daily strength from reading his Bible and lived a life guided by its teachings. He was a dedicated family man who cherished time spent with his daughters and grandchildren. Gene also found joy in tending to his yard and cheering for South Carolina Gamecock football.
Gene served with distinction for 28 years with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service before retiring. He later continued his career with Gino Morena Enterprises, contributing many more years of dedicated service.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Jamie Lynn Watts (Dalton), Laura Hope Disher (Hewie), and Sherry Jewel Pino (Christopher). His legacy is carried forward by his beloved grandchildren, Jordyn Caitlyn Disher, Jacob Daniel Tetreault, Jonathan Cole Tetreault, Julian Skylar Disher, Madison Faith Disher, and Collin Jewel Pino.
Gene was the son of the late Frank Norbert Sites and Thelma Lindler Sites. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen L. Sites; son, Ricky E. Sites; brother, Jimmy Sites; and sister, Laura Stevens.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, in Irmo, South Carolina. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, in Irmo, South Carolina. Burial and graveside service will take place in Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church Cemetery in Chapin, South Carolina immediately following the service.
Gene’s memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him. May his life of faith and love bring peace to all who mourn his passing.
