Harriet passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025. Born in Alexandria, Va., she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Gertrude Pearson Coflin. She graduated from George Washington High School and dedicated her career to nurturing young minds as an assistant teacher at Irmo Elementary School until her retirement in 2000. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, where she served on numerous committees, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Harriet’s life was filled with joy and laughter. She loved playing bingo and cards, and cherished the time spent with her “First Grade Teacher Family”. Her adventurous spirit led her on many travels with her beloved Godson, Robert Russell, creating memories that will be forever treasured.
She is survived by her loving husband, Francis Ray Dudley; daughters, Kimberly Ann Dudley Jeffcoat (Jon), Kelly Lynn Dudley Woods (Trey); grandchildren, Hailey Monts, Jon Wiley Jeffcoat, and Chase Woods (Erika), along with two adorable great granddaughters. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her precious children, Jimmy, Susan, and John Dudley and her brother, Wallace Clark Coflin.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many special friends and family members who have always been there for her and her family. A special thanks goes to Polly and Charles LaRosa, who have walked alongside them through every journey of their lives and continue to provide comfort and support to the girls during this time of sorrow.
Also, special thanks to the Hospice House of Lexington for their wonderful care and sympathy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.dunbarfunerals.com
