Jeremiah was born on January 4, 1958, in Deming, NM. However, he spent his childhood in the Jobstown, NJ area. Here he made many lifelong friends. He graduated from Northern Burlington HS in 1976.
Jeremiah shared a passion for horses with his mother, his siblings, and his niece. His brother-in-law, Paul Consol, gave him his first job mucking out stalls when he was younger. He later became a groom and trainer for harness horses. Jeremiah fondly reminisced about this time of his life. He loved all animals—especially horses and elephants.
Jeremiah (also known as JB by his coworkers and friends)worked as a commercial lubricant specialist and technical advisor in the oil industry for White Oil Company. JB was a member of many professional organizations throughout his career. He relocated to South Carolina in 1996 to work in the Southeastern area for White Oil Company and loved the area so much he decided to make it his home.
Jeremiah had many interests. He was certified as a scuba diver who logged more than 100 wreck dives. This is an accomplishment that he was very proud of. His wife never knew what he might bring home to her from the ocean. He also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his many friends. He was fond of watching sports—especially football. He was a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan (this is an understatement), which was very apparent during Sunday football when he did his own commentary. JB had a love hate relationship with golf and even though he could no longer get out on the course to play, he loved to watch it on the television. He also enjoyed watching movies especially the “Noir” films. JB loved the outdoors and being near the lake. Fishing, hunting, and camping brought him joy.
Jeremiah is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Penny Ann Bacon (Stickle), siblings Carol Bacon, Gail Cunningham and Russell Bacon as well as his sister-in-law, Dr. Debbie Bacon, brother-in-law Paul Consol, brother-in-law William Stickle and his wife Gladis, his sisters-in-law Sheri Kemprowski and her husband Joe, and Mary Miller and her husband Harold. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Bac” or “Uncle Miry” to his twenty-five nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Russell Bacon Sr., and Hazel (Chandler) Bacon.
