

A Memorial Service for Joseph Wylie David, 53, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Lake Murray Presbyterian Church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel is assisting the family. Joe passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 21, 2015 after a long, brave fight against cancer. Born March 26, 1962, in Denver, Colorado, he is a son of Elanor David and the late Brigadier General Donald J. David (USAF).
Joe is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Dana; mother, Elanor David; sister, Barbara K. David; brother, Jeff David (Barbara). He also leaves behind extended family and many close friends. Joe was preceded in death by a brother, Master Sgt. Hugh J. David (USA Special Forces).
Joe loved fishing, football, and hiking in the Rockies. He served his country in the United States Marines following high school. He continued his education and earned his Masters Degree in Business from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. Joe was a successful and passionate entrepreneur. Over the years, he started many businesses including music promotion, restaurants, and property management. He had a love of Christ, was a member of Lake Murray Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed the fellowship of the Men’s Group and Bible study. He was a kind, loving, generous friend to all; loved cooking for others; enjoyed Gamecock sports teams, and the company of his dog, Mocha. He poured his heart into his marriage to Dana, his community, and will be missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Steven Madden, his staff, and the staff at Lexington Medical Center for their kind and compassionate care of Joe and our family during his illness.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Lake Murray Presbyterian Church, 2721 Dutch Fork Road, Chapin, SC 29036.
